Raccoon Hill

After a few days of good and deserved R&R we were assigned our first mission as journeymen. It involved going to a city named what roughly translates as Raccoon Hill which used to be an elven metropolis, but now its just a ruins of a once great city crawling with undead, and activating an old city ward to help restore the city to the glory it once had. Sounds simple enough, thing is the undead in the city can infect you with a disease, the city is practically an uncharted maze, and its swarming with the undead, no one has spent the night there and made it back so it has to be a quick get in get out mission. So we stocked up on potions and traveled to the camp just outside the city. The city is surrounded by a precipice, the only way in or out is a drawbridge which is defended by day and at nightfall is lifted because is when most of the things in the city come out. in the camp the guy in charge is Constantine Van Belmont one of the most respected persons in the academy, some say he rejected the proposal to become one of the grandmaestres.

Well what we expected to be a run in the park started of as you can expect badly, we hadn’t been there for more than an hour and we were already lost. While walking aimlessly a minotaur ambushed us the first clue I got about the ambush was the thump Daeron’s body made when it hit the ground unconscious and all but dead.

After about eight hours we found the building where the glyph is, so we have about seven hours to find the glyph reactivate it and find our way back. entering the building we encountered what it felt like a company of zombies we must have battled for about 10 minutes non stop, and re-killed about 120 zombies. good thing Darren is a lean mean zombie killing machine, he must have dispatched about half of those zombies himself. We manged to survive the onslaught but we were all spent and needed to rest, the problem is that the firs thing everyone told us about the city was along the lines “whatever you do, don’t be there after nightfall”, so we decided to lock the entrance to prevent the outside zombies to come in and us going out. After a good nights rest we carried on looking for the glyph, three days passed and all we found in there was demon trying to use us as sacrifices for some evil deity, a mimic trying to eat us, more zombies and an orb of shadows trying to kill us and we hadn’t finished searching the first floor yet, what a walk in the park.
